Character Challenge: Katniss vs. Tally - Ultimate Victor

So this past while I've been thinking about The Hunger Games, I don't know why. Maybe it's because I loved the books, maybe it's because I think the guy playing Gale is really ho,t or maybe I'm just starting to notice how hard it is to find a good dystopian novel. But I've also been thinking about the actual Hunger Games that we saw in the books, the whole fight to the death for the Capitol's entertainment. So THEN I ended up thinking about the Uglies series and Tally Youngblood and how she would fit against Katniss. I love both the characters equally but I just can't help but wonder who would murder who first in an actual Hunger Game. Now, I know what most of you are thinking, “Obviously, Tally would lose if you use Ugly Tally.” Well my darlings what if I used Special Tally? You heard me right. This week's challenge will give a whole new meaning to the phrase “Survival of the fittest” , all to find out who will win the title of:
Ultimate Victor of the Chapter by Chapter Hunger Games.

We'll be checking out the following:

1.) What they've done (the story of their lives and I'll just give you the SPOILER ALERT!!! now. First and final warning).

2.) What skills/weapons do they bring to the Chapter by Chapter Hunger Games.

3.) A look at the results of our Hunger Games.

Best of luck ladies!

The Scenario

The Gamemakers would have set it to rain when Tally and Katniss are the only two tributes left in the arena. The wind blows, scattering leaves and causing waves to grow in the lake nearby (can we make it have toxic water?). The different sounds would probably be hard for Tally to separate, is that the sound of a heartbeat she hears or is it just the sound of branches crashing against each other? Not far behind her, up in the trees, Katniss Everdeen watches her from above moving from branch to branch hoping that the Special tribute doesn't turn around and see her. Are there any ways to even defeat the Special tribute? You can be sure that Katniss has already thought of the possible solutions for how to defeat the Special tribute while Tally searches for her, taking down trees while she moves around on her fancy hoverboard.
Let's take a look at how they both ended up here. How they both ended up becoming
forces to be reckoned with (worth marks).

Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games
Katniss, from District 12, was never supposed to be in the Hunger Games. She only ended up there when her sister Prim's name was drawn and she volunteered in Prim's place (aww sisterly love) to keep her sister from possibly being murdered. In the Capitol, she gained the title of being the Girl on Fire and became a popular figure in the Hunger Games when Peeta admitted to all of Panem that he loved her.
During the entire Hunger Games, Katniss also had to accept the fact that she was going to have to kill people all around her to survive. She killed the guy who murdered Rue, she killed Cato when he was being eaten by the mutant wolves, and she killed three other tributes during the Games. I don't want to delve deeply into Catching Fire but the main points are that her life of happiness and riches after winning the Games with Peeta was cut short so she could compete in the 75th Hunger Games (where she killed one more tribute). Same thing goes with Mockingjay, when Katniss takes up the mantle of being the Mockingjay, has the weight of Panem on her shoulders and goes on a rampage against the Capitol (where she destroyed several bombers, killed peacekeepers and President Coin). Very, very, very dangerous.
VS.
Tally Youngbloog - Uglies
Tally lives in a world that is revolved around being shallow. At the age of sixteen, she could have gotten the surgery to become a Pretty though because of her rebel friend Shay, who ran away to live in the wilderness in a place called the Smoke, Dr. Cable forced Tally to get her back or to never be pretty again. After finding Shay, betraying the love of her life David, then becoming a Pretty with Shay - Tally was forced to become a Special against her will (this is the Tally competing in our Hunger Games!). This Tally has a total disregard for anybody who is an Ugly or isn't a Special in general. She's been enhanced to the point where she believes to be superior (thanks to all of those brain surgeries no doubt). The only issue with being a Special is that she has to destroy the people that brought her to where she is today.
Now for who gets the points, I know that most of you are wonder why I would put points on their life stories. Easy answer is that whoever shows more survival skills
and killer instinct in their life got full marks.
So congratulations Katniss for getting the first set of points.
Let's see what these girls bring to the games (worth marks).
Katniss Everdeen:

Tally Youngblood:

-Katniss is resourceful.
-She managed to do the impossible and survived two Hunger Games.
-Highly skilled archer.
-Educated in medicinal plants.
-Experienced with a knife.
-Highly skilled Hunter/Trapper.
-Logical (though her emotions can get in the way).
-Skilled tree climber.
-She can track and move silently.
-Bows/arrows with mechanical properties.
-She can take a life.

-She's a bit of a cyborg.
-She has a hoverboard.
-She has cybernetic implants that deal with repairing her.
-Her whole skeletal structure was replaced to be nearly indestructible
-She can eat any substance and not die.
-Her nails can shred steel.
-Sharpened senses (she can hear heartbeats, movement from far away, an arrow being released from a bow).
-Faster and stronger than the average human.
-Amazing reflexes.

Well both of them seem pretty scary. I'm giving full marks to Tally Youngblood in this area that we have looked at. She's definitely more of a threat when it comes to the way her body has been altered to make her more machine than human. Let's hope that Katniss can find some way to find holes in Tally's armor or else she might not survive a third Hunger Game.

Now the moment we have all been waiting for. Who will live? Who will die? When will I come up with more original three questions? You'll find out in the epic conclusion to the Chapter by Chapter, Hunger Games! After all the other tributes from different novels met their demise, only two were left... Tally and Katniss! And here...we...go!!
The Scenario:

Katniss reaches into her bag that she found in the Cornucopia, pulled out the flash bang that was inside of it and pulls the pin from it throwing it to the Special tribute. What does Tally do? She attempts to catch it or to move out of the way, but the device does what it's meant to and disorients her. The machines in her bloodstream try to fix her up so she can move out quickly to find Katniss and to become the Ultimate Victor. Tally doesn't move fast enough, Katniss loads her bow with arrows that explode on contact. The arrows fly at Tally, hitting her in multiple areas on her body. Exploding and giving her body more wounds to heal. Katniss hops down from the tree tops, racing to get to the tribute girl before she can recover. The wounds on Tally's body struggle to knit the skin back together. Katniss aims another arrow, this one landing near the girl's shoulder and just when she's about to gouge the Special tribute's eyes (I think gouge isn't as dark as some of the other things I could have said) Tally reaches an arm up, catching Katniss's throat.

Tally throws  her aside. Katniss slams her head into a tree. Her bag is still fastened around her back, she has seconds left before the Special tribute finishes her off. Her fingers reach for the powders that she found inside of a pocket of a fellow tribute's corpse, the rain stopped pouring for a single minute... instead the wind blew harder. Katniss hurls the powder. Tally can't see through it and while Katniss hurries up another tree, the bow used to shoot the arrows hangs loosely on her back, while her bag nearly slips from her hands twice. She manages to get away from the Special tribute who is still attempting to recover from the injuries that Katniss inflicted. Katniss hurries to the other tree tops while Tally looks around...listening for something. Heartbeats were impossible to hear at times like these. Instead, she waits to hear an arrow being released, a moment later it comes. Tally catches it midair holding it in front of her face. A second later...it explodes. The shrapnel digs into her skin, some of it getting stuck in her Special tattoo and surprisingly most of it ends up in her eyes. Katniss rushes towards her, knife in hand she (omitted for those with weak stomachs).

Katniss stood above the Special tribute...a minute later an image of the tribute's face is shot into the sky. Finally the Chapter by Chapter, Hunger Games had a Victor.

That's how it ends. I know that this week our Character Challenge was much more serious than most of the others. I hope you enjoyed and in case you haven't figure out who won yet...well I'll tell you who it was soon enough. Though I will say that Tally was a really strong opponent and a difficult one, Katniss was still able to defeat her. Mainly because she is resourceful and in fiction no matter how strong or powerful you are I've noticed that the more resourceful you are the less easy you are to defeat. And if you still haven't figured it out Katniss took the win. Congratulations Katniss on winning your third Hunger Game and earning the title:

Ultimate Victor of the Chapter by Chapter,
Hunger Games.

Yay for Katniss!! I'm glad that she won. She is definitely the stronger of the two in my opinion. Great match up for the character challenge.

Oh, man that's a tough one. I think I have to disagree though. Katniss is a tough bird alright, but I think Tally's modifications would ensure her victory.

Either that or they would decide to do what Katniss and Peeta did - refuse to kill each other.
